All Souls School is hosting the last public Play Day of this school year for children ages 4 through 8. The Play Day will be held on Saturday, June 7 from 10 a.m. to noon. “Everyone is invited to join us, whether to learn how our language immersion program works or to just enjoy the day,” said Carrie Fuller, the school’s principal. Light refreshments will be served.
Children will be able to play on new playground equipment provided by the Christ Child Society and to explore the children’s garden created with a grant from Whole Foods. There also will be time for families to tour the school and to observe the Chinese and Spanish classrooms.
All Souls School is the first elementary school in the Los Angeles Archdiocese, and one of only twenty Catholic schools in the United States, to offer dual language immersion. It is the only Catholic school in the nation to offer two separate language tracks: Spanish-English and Mandarin-English. Parents select which language track their child will follow.
Students are challenged with a rigorous curriculum in a nurturing environment and prepared to become tomorrow’s leaders. Credentialed teachers provide a Christ-centered education of the whole child with the goal of leading students to become individuals who are ready for the challenges of the 21st Century with the ability to read, write, think and communicate in two languages.
